Peacock Wall mural with Metal Foil

Thin metal foil can also be used to create wonderful crafts.  Here is a gift from one of our aunts, a medium-sized wall mural using metal foil.

This pattern is of a traditional Indian stylized swan using thin aluminium foil on a black cloth background.  Each piece  has been cut with scissors and pasted onto the background in a specific pattern. After pasting, small furrows and lines have been engraved on the pieces, using a stylus to make the effect more dramatic.

This technique is also commonly used to make greeting cards, picture frames etc. Click on the picture for an enlarged image.
